What is Sundance Vacations Call Process?

Why Do We Call You?

In today’s competitive markets, companies use a variety of advertising tools to attract new customers.  Sundance Vacations has display booths and kiosks located in shopping centers, sports arenas, festivals, etc…, where you enter to win our sweepstakes and register your contact information. We call you because we want your business!  When we call, we ask you to attend an informative and hopefully fun 60-minute presentation to learn about (and we hope purchase) our vacation program. In exchange for your time and attention, you receive a promotional gift.   Attending a presentation does not increase your chances of winning the sweepstakes.

Why Do We Keep Calling?

Some Internet posters accuse us of harassing potential clients. Why, they want to know, do we continue phoning if there has been no response to our calls and messages?  The answer is, our marketing goal is just one live contact.  If the result of our call is no answer, or an answering machine, we call you back.  Once we have the opportunity to speak with you directly, it’s easy for you to accept or decline our offer, effectively completing the direct marketing portion of our program.

We do, of course, telephone our clients in order to provide service.  As a courtesy, we call to remind and confirm appointment dates and times; we call to reschedule missed appointments.

Hopefully, this clarifies how our call process works.  For sweepstakes details and registration, visit the official site of Sundance Vacations and check out our giveaways.  We’re interested in your comments, thoughts and suggestions.

Thank you!

I’ve been with the company for over 11 years and a manager for 10 years and I can say without a doubt that we don’t harass our potential clients. It doesn’t make any sense to. I started with the company because my daughter (who has worked with the company for 13 years) spoke so highly of the company and was impressed with how the company was operated.

Our job is to call people. If we don’t get in touch with someone the first time we do try again. However, if someone tells us that they don’t want to receive another call from us or that they are not at all interested in what we have to offer we take the necessary action to remove the client from our list.

I am an employee of the Mount Carmel office. Ginger trained me to be the great marketer that I am today. We never use the words… “win”, “won”, or “free”. Those are forbidden words in our office. When a client tells me to stop calling them or to take them of my list, I do. I believe in Dowd Marketing and think Tina and John did a fantastic job and hope they continue to grow. There are NO catches or hidden fees and i try my hardest to convince my client that it is true. I have only been working here for a few months and I love every minute of it. Like i tell my clients…” if you don’t believe me, come in and find out for yourself. If you don’t, you’ll never know.”

I too am a marketing manager for Sundance vacations for 11 years and counting, and have found that this company that I work for has grown into what I call an asset to the many. I can honestly state that I have worked my way up from telemarketing, to fill- in manager , to then being trusted to educate and run my own marketing office for the company. That is why I feel that the public should know just how commited our company is in providing the ut most respect and confidence in quality customer service. People should know exactly what our company has to offer in tremendous savings for their family and friends. It’s funny to know just how skeptical a person can be in todays society when hear say comes to play, but it truly takes a person to experience the truth to actually know the truth. Being born and raised in the big city I know exactly what to look for in a company that might be of false truths, so that is why I am glad to be part of a team that not only cares for the people, but most importantly cares for me. In my opinion the client has nothing to lose, but everything to gain in a company thats ready to go that extra mile for them. The worse thing that can happen is that you might actually find the last travel company you will ever need.

I HAVE BEEN WITH THE COMPANY FOR 12 YEARS, MANAGING FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS. I CONTINUE MY JOURNEY WITH JOHN AND TINA DOWD BECAUSE OF THEIR HIGH STANDARDS AND COMMITMENT TO THEIR ENTIRE STAFF AS WELL AS THE PEOPLE WE CONTACT. WE FOLLOW SCRIPTS, HAVE RULES AND REGULATIONS TO FOLLOW, AND WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED,WE CLICK A BUTTON THAT SAYS “NOT INTERESTED.” IF WE DO NOT CONTACT YOU PERSONALLY, WE WILL CONTINUE TO CALL UNTIL WE DO. WE ALSO CALL YOU AGAIN IF YOU BOOK AN APPT. WITH US TO CONFIRM YOUR MEETING. IF YOU DO NOT SHOW UP FOR YOUR MEETING WE WILL CALL YOU AS A COURTESY TO SEE IF YOU WOULD STILL LIKE TO COME IN. THIS IS PRETTY STANDARD FOR ANY COMPANY. OUR COMPANY HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME AND CONTINUES TO GROW. THIS SHOULD SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE TYPE OF COMPANY WE ARE.

I have been an employee with Dowd Marketing for 6 years. I agree with everyone else on this Topic I don’t think we harass anyone. It is a shame that a few people that didn’t like what we had to offer, or didn’t qualify can go online to various sites and talk such nonsense on this great company that John and Tina started from the ground. You must believe in what you do, and I sure do.

As an 8 month employee (and counting), I am climbing the ladder of success with Dowd Marketing. I am confident to say that we are an honest, straight-forth company that never tries to “sugar-coat” anything we offer. The promotions offered to the customers speak for themselves. This company was started from scratch by John & Tina Dowd in order to provide the customers AS WELL as the employees with the utmost respect and benefits. I honestly can say this company has my support 100 percent - and I would recommend to everyone, given the opportunity to experience a vacation through Sundance, to go for it!! And to anyone given the opportunity to work for this company; take yourself to the top of the charts, with the highest standard of customer satisfaction!!

I just wanted to say that I have been with the company now for almost two years. I work in the lead generation department based out of the Wilkes-Barre office. I would like to say while working in the field as a lead gen. we get a lot of feed back from those potential clients. Yes there a people complaining about the non stop phone calls…blah blah blah….so on and so forth. They have every right to say what they want but what they dont understand and we try to explain to them is that if they dont answer the phone or hang up without declining or excepting the offer it gets thrown back into the system. So in all reality they are the ones causing their own problems by not talking to our wonderful telemarketers. So keep up the great work and John and Tina congrats on your success!!!

I have been with the company for over 8 years as a marketer in the Mount Carmel office. I can honestly say that we do not harass the people that fill out the entries. Once we speak to you live and you tell us you are not interested we will never call you again (unless you win the grand prize you originally entered for). Why would we want to harass you and make you mad? We are trying to gain future customers in the areas of our sales offices and gain your future travel business, not get you upset with us. Plus it is a great opportunity to attend the hour presentation with us and find out what we offer as a company, expecially if you are a traveler, so why not give us a try and leave with a thank-you for your time with us!

i have been with the company for 8 years and a manager for over 7 years. i have worked in three different offices for sundance vacations. i have never harrassed or allowed any of my employees to harrass anyone over the phone. if someone does not answer their phone, it is our job to keep trying to reach them. anyone with a phone can understand that concept. if you need to talk to someone you keep trying until you get them. that is all that we try to do. if someone tells us not to call it does not make any sense for us to keep calling them. it would be counter-productive for our company. john and tina dowd are very good to us employees and we strive to keep sundance vacations successful and profesional.

Although I have only been with Sundance Vacations’ Communications department for 8 months, I have come to understand their marketing and sales process very well. Right from the time a potential client signs up at an event for the cash giveaway, they are told straight forward what they are getting themselves into. After all, the potential client signs a slip in which they agree to be contacted by our marketing offices.

Many people complain that they are harassed and called too much, but what many don’t realize is that if they just say “No thank you, I am not interested” they will be taken off the call list. Those who don’t answer their phone or hang up on a marketer are NOT taken off the list and WILL be contacted again.

After visiting some of the sales offices, I believe that attending a presentaion is extremely beneficial for a potential client. Each person only has to give an hour of their time and whether or not they buy any vacations, they are still given some great gifts.

I think that potential clients need to have an open mind when they are contacted by a marketer. They should treat them with respect and listen to what they have to say. It could lead to quite an amazing vacation experience in the end!

  11. Torre Bolus - January 22nd, 2007 at 4:33 pm

My name is Torre Bolus and I work in the Tamaqua office. I am a recent “transplant” from Michigan and I have been a telemarketer for about eight years. I have sold magazines for college students and educators, windows, siding, roofs, and whatever else that goes along with home-improvement. I have also called people on behalf of the police and fire departments in Michigan. When I answered the ad for Dowd Marketing, I said no big deal, it is just another company. Well I was soooo wrong. I LOVE MY JOB AND I LOVE SUNDANCE VACATIONS!!! I think that what we offer is so great that I cannot understand anyone saying no. I have not had the opportunity to meet John and Tina Dowd yet but I would like them to know that I think it is a privilege to work for their company. Our supervisor, Denise Miller is the best. She makes our job fun and keeps us motivated when we start to get down. I hope to be around for awhile and if anyone out there gets a call from me, I just want you to know that I am going to do my best to let you know that I love this company and what we offer is fantastic!!!

  12. Candy Bednar (Tri-State Financial) - January 27th, 2007 at 3:59 pm

I was employed as a telemarketer way back in May of 1993. Back then, we actually made phone calls directly from the telephone book. It is outstanding to see all the changes and progress that has taken place in the past 14 years. Many telemarketers were nervous as new laws were implemented into the telemarketing world, such as “The DO NOT CALL lists”. Many telemarketers feared losing their jobs or feared that telemarketing companies would close their doors forever. Congratulations to Sundance Vacations for coming up with creative ways to contact the public, while obeying all the rules and regulations. Thank you for supplying so many different job opportunities for individuals all over the area. The people who are contacted now have authorized Sundance Vacations to contact them. I can’t imagine how anyone can classify that as harassment. And I doubt any company that was really harassing people would not be in business for so many years and would never be awarded the Better Business Bureau Torch Award!! Good job Sundance Vacations…. keep up the great work!

  13. fard (Chris) Karriem Shamokin office. - January 29th, 2007 at 11:45 pm

I just wanted to say that Sundance vacations is constantly modifying its approach to alot of things concerning marketing. Alot of people who I have talked to on the phone just dont realize that among all the telemarketing calls, sundance actually calls them to inform them of legitimate giveaways.
And of all of the other companies, if you notice, Sundance is one of the rare companies that actually pays thousands of dollars out of its own pockets so that people who are not even yet members (but perspective clients) can enjoy one of the rare inventions of the modern day world. . . Vacations!
All other companies require something, and usually, its a fee; however, sundance only asks that you spend an hour out of one day only and in return Sundance pays for everything else. I am not sure if that sounds weird to alot of people, but it’s the one thing that makes Sundance vacations such a large and respected corporation that people should be proud of. The next time you recieve a call, you should have questions, and allow us to answer them for you, that way alot of people wont feel that we are after one thing. Truth is, not one person has bought anything from our company that they didn’t feel was something good.
