It's just enough to make your own coffee or tea and maybe some bagels in the morning before heading out for the day. When traveling, who wants to go food shopping, cook or do dishes?? Just enough room for some beverages and snacks is all that is needed. Plus, there are some great restaurants in the area that travelers will be interested in checking out. The whole resort sounds like it is going to be very warm and cozy. Having a full size kitchen would take away from the ambiance. Personally, I think it sounds perfect!!
